This time, most noted that it sounded like … Pratt. But that was plenty to get social media to weigh in – again. In today’s trailer, Pratt as Mario only said two phrases - “What is this place?” and “Mushroom kingdom, here we come” - in the 2 minute, 25-second trailer that more engagingly focused on the Black-voiced Bowser. Beyond the mustachioed plumber, Martinet also voices Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Toad, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi and a select few other characters from the same. Charles Andre Martinet 2 ( / mrtne /, 3 French: matin born September 17, 1955) is an American actor, who has been portraying both Mario and Luigi in the Super Mario video game series since 1991. “People online strongly disagreed with Chris Pratt being cast to play Super Mario,” he said as part of his Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the casting aftermath. It reached enough of a pitch that Jimmy Kimmel even had to weigh in soon after. Mario voice actor Charles Martinet took the stage at Awesome Con 2021 for a panel to talk about Mario, his career and to answer fan questions. Right away, many online opined about casting Pratt as Mario. ‘Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts’ Pounces On $171M Global Bow ‘Across The Spider-Verse’ Nears $400M WW – International Box Office

During a spacewalk, a NASA astronaut’s face shield continually fogged. Anti-Fog CoatingsĪnti-fog coatings were developed by NASA during Project Gemini in 1966. Let’s look at how these work and how they are integrated into anti-fog lenses. But although they prevent fogging for a little while longer than wiping with your shirt, they still cause the same issues that the shirttail method does removing your glasses, taking you off task, and risking eye injury.Īnti-fog wipes are a step in the right direction because they make use of anti-fogging chemical agents. The next go-to solution is usually anti-fog wipes. The minute you place your glasses back on your head, they’ll likely fog again, which means you’ll end up having to wipe your glasses again. Eyes that are left vulnerable even for a few minutes could result in an eye-related injury that could impact your vision and/or cause time off from work. If you’re wearing safety glasses, removing them to clean the fog from them could place your eyes at risk of injury. Whether it’s work, a game, or a home improvement project, removing your glasses to clean them is an automatic time out. If you have to stop to clean and wipe off that thin film of fog, you’re going to have to stop what you’re doing. If there are dust particles on it that could scratch your glasses, you could end up with lenses that are not just foggy they’re damaged. Your shirt probably isn’t incredibly clean. There are four problems with this solution. Your glasses fog, then you immediately remove them, grab the bottom of your shirt, and wipe. The most popular solution for dealing with glasses that fog is taking them off and wiping them on your shirt. Here are our recommendations for keeping your glasses fog-free: Anti-Fog Solutions On your glasses, adhesion and cohesion cause tiny water droplets to form and stick to your glasses, which creates fog. Both properties help water stick together and stick to the edges of the glass. The water appears slightly higher than the top of the glass, but it doesn’t spill over. Water’s cohesive properties cause it to stick together, bead up, and create surface tension.Īn example of water’s cohesion and adhesion in action can be seen in a glass that is filled with water just past the top. At the same time that adhesion is working to help water stick to other surfaces, cohesion is helping water stick to itself. It’s the reason why you’ll see water droplets clinging to the branches of plants. Adhesion causes water to stick to surfaces like glass. If you’re wondering why the little water droplets attach themselves to the surface of the lens in the first place, it’s because of two specific properties of water: adhesion and cohesion. It's important that your mask fits well, but there are some extra ways to ditch the fog. You could strap it down with adhesive bandages or athletic tapes (but those aren't fun to rip off. You could add a flexible metal strip to seal the mask to your cheeks and nose. The fogging continues until the surface temperature of your glasses matches the surface temperature of the air (or warm breath) that surrounds them. Likewise, when you leave the cool comfort of your home and step out into the blazing heat of summer, your glasses also fog. Thus, when your hot breath escapes your PPE face covering and hits the surface of your glasses’ cooler lenses, they fog. Warm, moist air that hits a cool surface causes fogging. Fog Formation Informationĭo your glasses fog when you wear other PPE like a face mask, when you walk outside from indoors, or vice-versa? The reason is because of the temperature difference and the level of moisture in the air. Let’s nerd out and talk about why your glasses fog in the first place and how this magical lens coating prevents it from happening. All Stoggles safety glasses come standard with this semi-permanent, anti-fog coating. Whether you experience fogging on your sunglasses, eyeglasses, or safety glasses, it becomes an irritating event that can also place your eyes at risk of injury.Īnti-fog solutions are plentiful, but the true Cadillac of anti-fog fixes is an anti-fog coating applied during the eyewear manufacturing process. None of us are strangers to our glasses fogging and creating an impossible haze through which it’s nearly impossible to see. Following each step shown in this article will guarantee it will work flawlessly.īelow is a typical diagram of a company network providing VPN access to remote users in order to access the company's network resources. Setting up a Cisco router to accept remote Cisco VPN clients is not an extremely difficult task. Some companies have a strict policy that does not allow the remote VPN client access the Internet while connected to the company network (split tunneling disabled) while others allow restricted access to the Internet via the VPN tunnel (rare)! In this case, all traffic is tunnelled through the VPN and there's usually a web proxy that will provide the remote client restricted Internet access.įrom all the above, split tunneling is the most common configuration of Cisco VPN configuration today, however for educational purposes, we will be covering all methods. In this setup, only traffic destined to the company's LAN is sent through the VPN tunnel (encrypted) while all other traffic (Internet) is routed normally as it would if the user was not connected to the company VPN. Split tunneling is a feature that allows a remote VPN client access the company's LAN, but at the same time surf the Internet. The Cisco VPN also introduces the concept of ‘Split Tunneling'. Cisco VPN Clients are available for download from our Cisco Downloads section. To initiate the connection, we use the Cisco VPN client, available for Windows operating systems (XP, Vista, Windows 7 - 32 & 64bit), Linux, Mac OS X10.4 & 10.5 and Solaris UltraSPARC (32 & 64bit), making it widely available for most users around the globe. All that is required is fast Internet connection and your user credentials to log in – all the rest are taken care by your Cisco router or firewall appliance. The flexibility of having remote access to our corporate network and its resources literally from anywhere in the world, has proven extremely useful and in many cases irreplaceable. Remote VPN access is an extremely popular service amongst Cisco routers and ASA Firewalls. One advantage of Premiere Pro over Premiere Rush is integration with other Adobe Creative Cloud Apps. Premiere Pro uses a traditional timeline that gives users more control of their workflow. A magnetic timeline fluctuates as you drag your video clip around which makes it perfect for quick edits and a touch-friendly device. Premiere Rush uses a magnetic timeline, similar to iMovie or Final Cut Pro. If you’re planning on shooting using a codec that isn’t one of those four, Adobe Rush is immediately out for you. On macOS or iPadOS, Premiere Rush also allows for ProRes video files. Premiere Rush on the other hand only accepts MP4, MOV, GIF, videos encoded using the H.264 codec. An example of this would be file formats.Īdobe Premiere Pro accepts a wide array of file formats including high-end ProRes codecs as well as things such as RED RAW. Since Premiere Pro is designed with more advanced users in mind, there’s a lot that Premiere Pro can do that Premiere Rush simply can’t. FeaturesĪdobe Premiere Pro offers an incredible array of features compared to Adobe Premiere Rush. While both of them are designed to edit video, Premiere Rush is designed with speed in mind whereas Premiere Pro takes a slower and more methodical approach to video editing. Premiere Pro and Premiere Rush are designed for entirely different purposes, so there’s a lot that’s naturally going to be different when comparing the two programs. So, what are the major differences between Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Premiere Rush? Well, quite a lot actually. Like all of Adobe’s apps, Premiere Pro is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud which is home to a slew of amazing applications as well as templates, stock footage, fonts, and stock images.Īdobe Premiere Pro has been used on countless Hollywood feature films such as Deadpool and is wonderful for filmmakers thanks in no small part to the amazing organization tools and abundance of professional-level workspaces. What is Adobe Premiere Pro?Īdobe Premiere Pro is a high-end video editing application aimed at more professional video editors. This beginner’s tutorial will go over all the major differences between Adobe Premiere Rush and Adobe Premiere Pro to best decide which one fits your editing needs. While similar in concept, there are a few key differences between Adobe Rush and Adobe Premiere Pro. Luckily for Adobe fans the platform has created a wonderful video editing app known as Adobe Premiere Rush to solve this very problem. While Adobe Premiere Pro is a great piece of software, it may not be the best solution for more casual users looking to edit videos shot on their smartphone. With incredible Adobe Creative Cloud integration with apps such as Adobe After Effects and Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro is a content creator’s all-in-one dream. While apps like Apple’s Final Cut Pro and Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve are wonderful editing programs, there’s one software that has been consistent amongst video editors.Īdobe Premiere Pro has been a mainstay video editing software for many years now, and it’s not very hard to see why. There are so many incredible video editing applications out there, and it can sometimes be hard to decide which one is best for your needs. The light output of projectors (including video projectors) is typically measured in lumens. To estimate lumens from watts for various types of lamp, see luminous efficacy. For example, according to the European Union standard, an energy-efficient bulb that claims to be the equivalent of a 60 W tungsten bulb must have a minimum light output of 700–750 lm. That change is a result of the EU's Eco-design Directive for Energy-using Products (EuP). On 1 September 2010, European Union legislation came into force mandating that lighting equipment must be labelled primarily in terms of luminous flux (lm), instead of electric power (W). Below is a table that shows typical luminous flux for common incandescent bulbs and their equivalents.Įlectrical power equivalents for different lamps Minimum light output (lumens) Many compact fluorescent lamps and other alternative light sources are labelled as being equivalent to an incandescent bulb with a specific power. Lamps used for lighting are commonly labelled with their light output in lumens and, in many jurisdictions, that is required by law.Ī 23 W spiral compact fluorescent lamp emits about 1,400–1,600 lm. It consumes about one sixth the energy of an incandescent light bulb producing the same light. So a lumen represents at least 1/683 watts of visible light power, depending on the spectral distribution.Īn LED lamp capable of producing 470 lumens. Mathematically, 1 lx = 1 lm/m 2.Ī source radiating a power of one watt of light in the color for which the eye is most efficient (a wavelength of 555 nm, in the green region of the optical spectrum) has luminous flux of 683 lumens. The same 1,000 lumens, spread out over ten square metres, produces a dimmer illuminance of only 100 lux. A flux of 1,000 lumens, concentrated into an area of one square metre, lights up that square metre with an illuminance of 1,000 lux. The difference between the units lumen and lux is that the lux takes into account the area over which the luminous flux is spread. The number of candelas or lumens from a source also depends on its spectrum, via the nominal response of the human eye as represented in the luminosity function. The lumen can be thought of casually as a measure of the total amount of visible light in some defined beam or angle, or emitted from some source. The luminous intensity would still be one candela in those directions that are not obscured. If the source were partly covered by an ideal absorbing hemisphere, that system would radiate half as much luminous flux-only 2π lumens. If a light source emits one candela of luminous intensity uniformly across a solid angle of one steradian, the total luminous flux emitted into that angle is one lumen (1 cd♱ sr = 1 lm).Īlternatively, an isotropic one-candela light-source emits a total luminous flux of exactly 4π lumens. The lumen is defined in relation to the candela asĪ full sphere has a solid angle of 4π steradians, so a light source that uniformly radiates one candela in all directions has a total luminous flux ofġ cd × 4π sr = 4π cd⋅sr ≈ 12.57 lm. Luminous flux differs from power ( radiant flux) in that radiant flux includes all electromagnetic waves emitted, while luminous flux is weighted according to a model (a " luminosity function") of the human eye's sensitivity to various wavelengths, this weighting is standardized by the CIE and ISO. The lumen (symbol: lm) is the unit of luminous flux, a measure of the total quantity of visible light emitted by a source per unit of time, in the International System of Units (SI). For other uses, see Lumen (disambiguation). It is based on a selection of presets from three different libraries: Analog Dreams, Ethereal Earth, and Hybrid Keys. This was good for Bombardier, as Airbus has its final assembly station situated in Alabama in the US, meaning that seen as the aircraft technically wasn’t foreign, the import tariff wouldn’t be imposed on it. However, Airbus decided to step in and acquire a 50% stake in the company, something beneficial for both parties concerned. (Credit: Aviation Week) Airbus saves the day It was then decided that, given Bombardier was a foreign company, the US government would impose a 300% import tariff, something near-destructible for the company. Boeing was quick to take action, claiming that it was stealing the market from its 737s, despite the fact that Delta had explicitly said that they weren’t looking to purchase the variants that Boeing were claiming to be losing out. However, this was contested and was seen to be Dumping, when a manufacturer essentially gives away its aircraft as sort-of “Samples”, and is illegal in the US and other countries. In fact, Bombardier was offering Delta 75 of the aircraft at $20 million a piece, a price which was even lower than the cost to build them, and a cost which was just too good to refuse. Eventually, more orders began to come for the new aircraft, including the critical ones in the US. (Credit: Simple Flying) Boeing’s crucial mistakeĮventually, these problems were fixed, and the first CSeries was delivered to SWISS on June 26, 2016. This was not good for the aircraft, nearly causing the project and the company to go bust, until financial aid was provided by the Canadian government. However, things turned out not to go as planned, and the CSeries encountered issues on one of its test flights, causing it to miss the Farnborough air show, the largest in the industry, and delay its release. At first, things were running smoothly and it was expected to enter commercial service in 2014, just one year after its first flight. The particular area where it was expected to boom were the US markets, given there is always demand to be flying from small airports as there is no lack of them in the large country. The Airbus A220 was first named the “CSeries” by Bombardier, and was meant to cater to the demand of small aircraft in between their current-sized fleet and those larger already made by Airbus and Boeing. In this article I explore its controversial creation, and why it’s needed. This is all because of what some might call a mistake made by Boeing, causing Airbus to acquire a 50.01% stake in the company. Aside from the fact that the Airbus A220 is the only airbus aircraft to not have a 3 in its name, the A220 is special from the fact that it isn’t fully made by Airbus, but instead a joint venture between them and Bombardier. SpongeBob's look gradually progressed to brown pants that were used in the final design. As he drew a sea sponge character, he originally wanted to use the shape of a natural sponge, but later decided that a "squeaky-clean square" would better portray a nerdy personality.Īn early colored sketch portrayed SpongeBob as wearing a red hat with a green base and a white business shirt with a tie. "What's the weirdest animal? The sponge came to mind," he recalled in 2012. He wanted the title character to be an under-represented creature, with the rest of the main characters being iconic and easily recognizable sea animals: a crab, a whale, and a starfish. Stephen Hillenburg revisited the concept of The Intertidal Zone in 1996 when he started sketching concepts for a cartoon series about undersea life. Bob the Sponge, a natural sea sponge with sunglasses, was the "host" of the book. The book was intended for children and taught about the behaviors of different sea creatures. While Stephen Hillenburg worked as a teacher of marine science at the Ocean Institute in California, he created an educational book called The Intertidal Zone. SpongeBob with his real-life counterpart, as seen in the book Underwater Friends. In this promo art, he is shown with his scientific classification. SpongeBob is a poriferan, better known as a sea sponge. SpongeBob appears in some form in every episode of the series, beginning with the series' debut episode, " Help Wanted." He is voiced by Tom Kenny, who is married to Karen Plankton's voice actress, Jill Talley. In The SpongeBob Musical, SpongeBob's exact species of sea sponge is identified: Aplysina fistularis, a yellow sea sponge that is commonly found in open waters. Like real sea sponges, SpongeBob has the ability to filter-feed (as shown in " I Had an Accident") and reproduce by budding (in " Pressure"). SpongeBob is very good-natured and loves to hang out with his best friend, Patrick. Unfortunately, he tenses up whenever he has to drive a boatmobile, and he drives recklessly.
